Have you ever stopped and realized how much faith and trust people put in what they see on television? The news shows clips of events that we can’t really even verify are real anymore. Especially when you see the capabilities of technology these days. Just this week there was a big story on how the former rapper Tupac was brought back to life with a hologram and it looks shockingly real. Check out the video for yourself below. While this use of the hologram is very entertaining and fascinating, we have to be careful and realize the dangers that come along with it. This technology can be used to show false images on the news to provoke the viewers to think something is true when it is not.
If some rich rap artists can afford to make a hologram this good then just imagine how much better of a hologram the military or other powers in control can produce. This is something we as aware individuals really need to be aware of in this day and age. Propaganda is not the only problem with the television. Another problem lays in the things that are promoted on television.
Modern television is flooded with so called “reality shows” which depict “actors” acting out a false life so people can see everything that goes on in their made up, false life. Kids watch shows like Jersey Shore and see how these actors pretend to live. They live unfulfilled depressing lives but make it look fun and fulfilling. These shows aim to show their audience that you should drink and party, you should be dominant over others with an inflated ego, what you should wear, how you should look, how you should talk, and pretty much anything else they want the viewers to change about themselves.
Because of television we have a society of people who can’t remember who they truly are at the core and have completely detached with source. I’m not here trying to say the television is completely evil because it is all about the viewer. The problem lies in the fact that a majority of people are in a state of spiritual sleep when they watch television making them susceptible to forms of conditioning.
I myself have found that I don’t watch my television anymore and spend much more of my time living. I feel like I am wasting time and energy if I sit down and watch it too long. I have also found a loss of interest in playing video games anymore which used to be something fun to me. For us all to grow spiritually we must turn off the weapon of mass deception and look within. Learn to be still, meditate, read more, spend more time outside, exercise, and get away from the trap of the television.
One last thing I want to talk about relating to the television is leaving it on when you go to sleep. This is a very harmful thing to your mind, body, and spirit. Sleeping with the television on has been found to be linked to depression. You can read about that at the link below. There are many other negative effects of television such as inactivity, weight gain, manipulation, and the promotion of violence and hate. Become aware of what you are watching and learn to detach with this negative, energy and spiritually draining system. Namaste.
